Spanish translation?

in spanish, do u use the same word to say "to find" and "to meet" cuz i'm using a translation site and it says they are both said as "encontrar" is this true?Spanish translation?
Yes, in Spanish the words "to find" and "to meet" both translate to "encontrar".

Your examples would translate as:

él acaba de encontrar a alguien por la primera vez.

él encontró su sombrero.

The word "encontrar" is used to mean "to meet" when you're saying something like "My friend and I meet for lunch every Thursday." I believe that the word "buscar" would be used to mean "to meet (a new person)", but I'm not positive. Encontrar definitely means to find (a word with a similar meaning is "buscar" which means "to look for" - not to be confused with "mirar" which means "to look at / to watch")
Yeah its true

I've only taken 2 years of spanish class so I'm not an expert by any means but I'm am pretty sure on this one. (Like 100% sure)Spanish translation?

Yes may spanish words are like that, Spanish is hard but it will get easier after every day and if you study you will be sure to be very good at it. If you speak Spanish to people every day or go to spain you will be very fluent in speaking spanish.

TO FIND- A ENCONTRAR

TO MEET- A CONOSER (? DO NOT KNOW HOW 2 SPELL)

Yes, it's true. I speak spanish, english, french, and greek. Encontrar is definetly that way to say both of those things. TRUST ME!!!
meet someone for the first time is conocer so depends how you want to use it.
yes, don't worry we all get mixed up in spaish. i takin spanish and it really hard but encontrar is "to find" or "to meet"
Encontrar means both, but it is used as "to meet" more often.

true
No it isn't.

Encontrar means to meet, like "i met my friend at the park" and it means to find like "i found my keys"

Conocer is to meet someone for the first time and to know someone.

www.wordreference.com is a good website for translating
si senyora
No. To meet someone for the first time is conocer.

Acabo de conocer a alguien por primera vez = I just met someone for the first time.

Mucho gusto en conocerte = pleased to meet you

The time you would use encontrar for meet is if you arrange a meeting somewhere with someone you already know. Meet you at the park.

WordReference.com is not a translator, but it has a good sampling of the different meanings of meet and different ways to translate it. Check it out. If you look up a word at that site, it will give you many of the nuances, and you can install it on your toolbar for ease of use.
