I am trying to find the most accurate Spanish translation of the Saginaw Blessing that my mission group likes to sings:
"May the Lord bless and keep you!
May he make his face shine upon you and be gracious to you.
And give you his peace."
It comes from Numbers 6:24-26 so I suppose either version would be just fine.
Thanks!|||Never heard of the Saginaw blessing, the following is the Aaronic blessing used in Catholic and Protestant liturgy:
"Biblia de Jerusal茅n":
24. Te bendiga YHWH y te guarde,
25. Haga YHWH brillar su rostro sobre ti
y te sea propicio.
26. Alce YHWH su rostro sobre ti
y te conceda la paz
The Reina-Valera version is the most traditional among Protestants, only trouble is that it traduces the tetragrammaton as "Jehov谩" (instead of "Yahweh" or "El Se帽or", the latter being more in concordance with Jewish and Roman Catholic use).
N煤meros 6:24-26 (Reina-Valera 1995)
24 "Jehov谩 te bendiga y te guarde.
25 Jehov谩 haga resplandecersu rostro sobre ti
y tenga de ti misericordia;
26 Jehov谩 alce sobre ti su rostro
y ponga en ti paz".
